3 steps to make cutting out a dress easier

Let's talk about how to make cutting out a dress easier. If cutting out is difficult for you, there are some easy steps to making it more enjoyable and making it work better for you.

Give yourself confidence

The first step to cutting out a dress is to give yourself confidence. Give yourself confidence that you can do this. And give yourself confidence that even if you make a mistake, that it's okay. It's okay if you ruin a whole piece of fabric by cutting it out wrong.

Everybody makes mistakes. It's not just you, it's everybody. We all make mistakes and ruin pieces of fabric, and that's fine. Yes, you have to go and buy  more fabric, but it's okay. It's not the end of the world.

So give yourself confidence that you can do this. You can cut it out. It's okay to make mistakes.

Cutting out a dress: look ahead

The next step is to think ahead of this dress that you want to sew. You are going to sew a dress because you need it, because you want another option in your wardrobe. You are sewing a dress because there is a special occasion to go to. Whatever the reason is, it’s time to sew.

Think about how you will feel when you wear a new dress for the first time. Admit it, you really like wearing a new dress. And wearing a new dress makes that little girl in you come out and get excited.

Looking ahead helps you focus on the result instead of the current task at hand. This is a great way to stay motivated.

Cutting out a dress: making time

And the third step is to make time for yourself.  Make time so that you can take time in cutting out. None of this  “I'm going to just quickly cut this dress out.  Make time so you can take your time. Then you can take the time to think about what you're doing. You can take the time to cut it out a little more carefully than if you're rushed.

Rushing to get the dress cut out is when the mistakes are made. And that’s what you want to avoid so that you can end up with that beautiful dress you are dreaming about.

The 3 steps to cutting out a dress easily and relaxed is to give yourself confidence that you can do it, look ahead to the finished dress, and make time for cutting out so that you can do the best job possible.

You can do this!

And now a question for you.
