How to store PDF patterns: 3 easy ideas

Getting organized and learning how to store PDF patterns make such a difference in keeping a clean sewing space!

I had a lightbulb moment the other day. Those are so fun! 😁

I was cleaning up my sewing area because it had gotten rather out of hand and full of many different projects. You don't ever do that do you?

Anyway, I was cleaning up and I had all these random patterns lying around. And I just don't know where to put all those patterns!

So I pulled out my binder to put some papers away and boom, the idea hit! I could put my patterns in the page protectors!

Just fold the pattern pieces and slide them into the page protectors. Wow! That instantly felt so much more organized!

And the ideas kept coming!

So here goes. I'll give a few ideas with some pictures and hopefully an idea will inspire you as well and you will find just the right idea that works best for your world! 😊

Store PDF patterns Idea 1

Fold patterns and slip into a manila folder. These make it really easy to mark the name of the pattern and whose it is if you sew for more than just yourself.

Then store the folders in something like this accordion file storage .

Or store in one of these options.

Idea 2

Store patterns in clear page protectors in a 3 ring binder.

This also works really great! You can also used a paper clip to keep the top closed so the patterns wouldn't be able to slide out too easily.

Idea 3

Hang the patterns from hangers with clips.

Hangers like this.

And it looks like this. This idea would be for those that have lots of space in your sewing room.😊

And that's it! I hope you find an easy and workable solution for storing your PDF patterns! Having organized sewing patterns makes for a smooth sewing experience!

O maybe you have hit a lightbulb moment and come up with a brilliant way to store patterns that I haven't thought of. Feel free to share your ideas in the comments below!
